I loved this story, it fully immersed me.... until the last 15 pages.

It was like watching NASCAR:
cars speeding over 100 mph, crowd roaring! then from out of no where, WALL! WALL! Swerving it to avoid this tragedy, he makes it to safety! Getting out of the car, he stands between the tire skids arms raised, he has won 1st place and everybody lives. The end.

NO! NO! He had like SOOOOO many laps to go before crossing the finish line!!!!!!

Obstacles are Fine, just don't lead to a 'and they All Lived Happily Ever After' when we finally got to the serious drama. Come on they finally were fighting, like a Serious Fight.

* Big Spoiler Alert! *

He literally yelled at her for not acting like a princess ( the People even started to regent her) to the point where she realizes all he wants is a Royal Heir not her and she leaves cause he doesn't want her, but for her to be someone who gives birth to solve the countries problem.

He didn't even go after her till the earthquake. So much for love.

I know he. The beginning he was starting to like her no look at her as a lover, then the scheme ( who did it I don't want to say since it surprised me but right now I want to punch them), then the marriage, then his cold treatment except in bed....

I went from liking him to love and finally ... I regretted even liking him. She would have been much happier without him. He didn't learn anything, maybe if we had more time ( like a 2nd volume ) but we didn't. I saw a guy with lots of potential and a lot of care/ love for his people, a respectable man who grew ... .... into a donkey.

He got the girl, the crown, and ... his heir.

What did she get? She gets to stay with the guy she loves ( don't know how he treats her, especially after what he did after the wedding), gets a child, losses her freedom, judged constantly.... does she even have any friends? ... I'll even take an ally at this point. She's no longer on her home terf and once she fell in love with him she kept worrying about him and his feeling towards her. She was so strong in the beginning, she stood up to a prince! But now.... she runs away in tears. I did like how she didn't go see him when she left, but she forgave him too quickly.

Maybe he could have reflected more if she ended up in critical condition fora while, but it ended way too quickly. I couldn't sort out my feelings.

I had seriously thought I was only halfway through the book when it ended in 15 pages. That's how immersed I was, so it was a very good story, but it needed more time to give this story the justice it deserves.

If anyone can come up with a better ending I'd love to hear it!

Expecting Royal Twins! Harlequin comics eBook Melissa McClone Kaishi Sakuya Reviews

I am not sure what everyone else read but this was not all that great. It had a good synopsis and had potential it just did not hit the mark. They knew each other 2 days and the book was 70% through. It was then told to you that a week passed and all of a sudden they are getting remarried and having their first kiss at 74%. They then go away for a week where the hero is distant and cold outside of the bedroom and they get in a fight and he leaves...for 7 weeks!!!! She finds out she is pregnant during this time and calls him. Only after an earthquake does the hero go to find the heroine. He says he loves her but was unsure of how to go about showing it because he was taught to hide his emotions by his dad. His dad was sweet and showed how he was feeling so I am not sure why the king would advise his children to hide their feelings away. I cannot see them in love. I mean, 2 days where they spent every second trying to get out of their marriage with her thinking he was in love with Jules and then a week where we do not read any interaction but are told that he was supportive of her during this time. This is all followed by a week of distance by the hero who treated her like a leper and then 7 weeks of nothing but they love each other?? I cannot see it, AT ALL!!! He called her a grease monkey and continued to tell her she needed to act like Jules even on their honeymoon. He wanted to change her all the way up until the day he went back to her. He NEVER excepted her how she was the entire time they were together so I cannot even see how I am supposed to think he even liked her let alone loved her. I did like how she retaliated in the pond for his comments about how Jules would have handle the village situation better. It was funny and a well deserved thing to do to the hero!!! I did not like him AT ALL but I did like the heroine. She was spunky and could have done SO MUCH BETTER than the hero. I would not wish him on any of the females in this book. They all deserve to be who they are and not belittled for being true to themselves!!!
If you just want to escape real life for a little while and read a fairy tale, pick this book up. It makes for a nice escape into a world with castles, a handsome prince, and a beautiful princess. The couple has trails to go through before reaching their happy ever after, But the suspense was perfect.

Izzy had been raised in the states by her uncle. He taught her everything he knew about cars. She was a mechanic, and a darn good one too. Her whole life changed when a limo pulled up to the shop where she worked. She found out she had a husband, and that she was a princess to a small country named Vernonia.

Here is a sample from chapter 4 – A man was calling Izzy’s name, but she didn’t open her eyes. Her alarm clock hadn’t buzzed yet. That meant this must still be part of her dream, an odd mix of fairy tale and nightmare with a brooding, handsome prince holding her captive in a tower. “Isabel,” the man said again. She liked the way the three syllables rolled off his tongue. I-sa-bel. She snuggled against the pillow, wanting more sleep and more of him. The bed lurched, as if she were riding on a flying carpet that had come to a sudden stop. “Welcome to Vernonia,” the male voice continued. Where? And then she realized. Izzy wasn’t in bed dreaming. She forced her heavy eyelids open. Bright sunlight streamed through the window. She blinked. The plane had not only landed, but also parked. A small turboprop taxied by. Every single one of her muscles tensed. Yesterday had been real. The box, Her parents. The prince. She clutched the armrest. “Good morning Isabel,” Niko said from the seat next to her. Izzy saw nothing good about this morning. She was tired, surrounded by strangers and far away from home. She turned toward Niko to tell him as much, but her mouth went dry at the sight of him. Hello, Prince Hottie. Heat pulsed through her veins. The stubble on Niko’s face made him look sexier, dangerous.
