I refuse to publish any spoilers, but I loved this story! Two master chefs, one competition, and so much more at stake than the prize. Reality TV with heart!What a neat perspective to this story! I guarantee you'll fall in love with these characters. Scott has a heart of gold, and is a very different man from the one Sarah used to know. And Sarah is after only one thing, winning the prize to help her sister pay her medical costs as she recovers from cancer. The end is a nail biter as you want both to win, but watch one nearly crash and burn. You gotta read it to see how it turns out.

I absolutely loved this sweet and sassy bonus story for Sal's Place. Marianne Evans packed so much emotion into a limited number of pages that it was delightful beyond measure.
Windfall
Windfall by Marianne Evans is the perfect frosting on the cake to the Sal's place tales. Marianne blends together all the right ingredients to make your mouth water and have you cheering for both chefs in this friendly cook off. Their fares sound so scrumptious and the love story is pure delight with just enough flavor, yet told in a very subtle way. I give this short charming story a 5 star bonus.
Sarah's sister has gone through an ordeal with breast cancer. Thankfully, they've made it safely through to the other side. Now to pay back all the bills they owe. Sarah's passion is cooking, and so she joins cooking competitions to help raise the money they need.
Sarah's competitor, Scott, is a great chef who is trying to open a restaurant. But neither of them were expecting this competition to lead to a relationship.
If you like shows like Chopped you should enjoy this. I have always enjoyed Ms. Evans' writing. And this certainly was no exception. I would highly recommend this books.
Scott Allen and Sarah Rutherford both entered the Motown Master Chef Competition that's being held at Sal's Place. Both have wonderful culinary skills and both know just exactly how they will use their winnings. Despite the fact that each one will do their very best in wowing the judges with their dishes, only one can be the winner. But is that what's really important?
Great food and sweet romance, how can you go wrong? This was a great little bonus to the Sal's Place Series that was both touching and encouraging. Scott and Sarah were great to get to know and even though the story is short, you really feel like you got to know them. You learn a little of their history and what God can accomplish if you let Him. I have to say, that reading all about what the chef's were preparing made me hungry. I would have loved being a judge in that competition! Yum! So, don't miss this culinary delight. Windfall will definitely please your romantic palette!

This is a great book that is a fine tribute to the Foot Network show "Chopped". You'll love the story and understand why they love seeing the show over and over.
As a cooking show junkie I was drawn in by the cover. As a fan of Marianne Evans I was quick to purchase. This was a greatly enjoyable way to pass a rainy day. It had all the realistic attributes of a cooking show and all the romance you could want to make your heart beat faster. A very touching book that shows how God rewards those willing to make sacrifices for others. I highly recommend this book!Sweet and savory! Delicious!
